Na na-na na nana- hey hey hey, I’m done!

By Vivian Arend

And you should all just count your blessings right now that you can’t actually hear me sing, because it’s NOT a pretty sound. :)

What is pretty is that three awesome things have happened.

#1- I have completed Nanowrimo. The 50K challenge that started me writing two years ago is done for another year as I passed the 50K mark on Friday. I did not expect to be able to win this year, and so will say that even though it was very hard on some days, having the challenge there did make me sit down and get the words done. Hurrah!

#2- In the process of achieving #1, I finished the first draft of the next in the cowboys series. Double Hurrah!! Need to do the additional work to clean it up, get feedback from my critique partners and then send it off to the editor at LSB to see what she thinks. So there’s still work to be done, but it’s one step closer, and I’m very pleased.

#3- and now that the cowboys are done, my awesome editor at Samhain gave me some great feedback that solved a few problems I was having with the merfolk, and I’m itching to get writing Whirlpool. That’s the wonderful thing about writing, there’s always something to do!
